Salty Sweeps Scene (Poem)

Churning seawater
Waves whet mineral and grit
Sandy shores invite
Support respite after run
Perspiry horse tail
Modestly brushes wet coat

Sleep Routine

Don’t try to sleep, but find ways to relax

Try not! Sleep evades effort.
Your skin will crawl, itch, and spark!
Avoid sleep’s spotlight, relentless demand—
also it’s mother, Insomnia!

Each night, at last, draw to rest
despite the circumstance, prepare
Sleep remains a needy thing
whose neglect induces disorder.
