“Jamboree” is a familiar, archaic term, heard on occasion in childhood. Although the term is generally defined to be associated with the Boy Scouts organization, the term has roots in prior usage to define a festive, perhaps boisterous gathering, usually in support of a cause: be that an organization or the public.
